Blair faced Standing Bear in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bears never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Laynie Brown was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Kaitlynn O'Neil also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Blair pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Standing Bear, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Looking ahead, Blair will take on Mercy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Standing Bear, they will square off against Lincoln Southwest at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Silver Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
