Softball Recap: Resurrection Christian Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frederick, Resurrection Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers by a score of 10-5.

Jailah Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Savannah Johnson was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Portia Hattig, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Resurrection Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Resurrection Christian will challenge Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will face off against Durango at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
