Baseball Recap: Austin Victorious

It was close, but on Saturday the Austin Packers sidestepped the Rushford-Peterson Trojans for a 4-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Packers.

Cooper Jacobsen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Austin is 3-1 when Jacobsen posts three or more RBI, but 4-9 otherwise. Rob Lillis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Austin's record is now 7-10. As for Rushford-Peterson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Austin will welcome Mahtomedi at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Zephyrs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Packers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Rushford-Peterson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
