Football Recap: Cate Takes a Loss

Cate had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it five. They were dealt a 46-17 loss at the hands of the Flintridge Prep Wolves. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

As for Flintridge Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average this season.

Flintridge Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Willingham, who picked up 174 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. With that strong performance, Willingham is now averaging an impressive 106 receiving yards per game. Another passer making a difference was Asher Jones, who threw for 263 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes.

As of now, neither Cate nor Flintridge Prep have any future games scheduled.
