Basketball Recap: Ann Sobrato Comes Up Short

Ann Sobrato was the 58-42 winner over Salinas when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs lost 47-22 to the Salinas Cowboys on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Ann Sobrato saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cameron Isle posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Castillo, who earned five points.

Salinas was led to victory by Alissa Escutia and Alice Uchida. Escutia put up 13 points, while Uchida had 13 points. Those 13 points gave Escutia a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Erin Uchida, who posted seven points.

Ann Sobrato's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Salinas, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Ann Sobrato didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-35 loss against Hollister on the 6th. As for Salinas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-27 defeat against Christopher on the 6th.
