Recap: Canyon Springs Cougars vs. Vista del Lago Ravens
The Canyon Springs Cougars posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They blew past Vista del Lago 54-21 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 25-4.
Leading Canyon Springs to victory were Iyana Rojas and Izabella Tejada. Rojas dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Tejada dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tejada has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Marely Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Canyon Springs is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Canyon Springs will look to defend their home court on Friday against Orange Vista at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Orange Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Wednesday. As for Vista del Lago, they will head out on the road to face off against Elsinore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
