Softball Recap: Bellevue East Comes Up Short

Bellevue East was the 9-0 winner over Marian when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chieftains fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellevue East saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcene Sutter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Sutter is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Bellevue East now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Marian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellevue East will square off against rival Fremont at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Marian is set to challenge their familiar foe Elkhorn South at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
