Recap: Leuzinger Olympians vs. Morningside Monarchs
The Leuzinger Olympians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Morningside at home to the tune of 76-19. Considering Leuzinger has won seven matches by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leuzinger got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dresha Moore out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Moore's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Sarabia, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Leuzinger's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.55 points. As for Morningside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Leuzinger won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oak Park at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Oak Park is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Morningside, they will head out on the road to face off against Beverly Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
