Baseball Recap: Chittenango Find Success

Chittenango hadn't done well against Homer recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bears came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 9-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Tuesday.

AJ Valente was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Maddox Shantel was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Chittenango is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Homer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Coming up, Chittenango will head out on the road to square off against Marcellus at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Homer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
