Football Recap: Hutchinson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Maize

Hutchinson faced Maize in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Salthawks were dealt a 56-19 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Salthawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.

Although Hutchinson took the loss, they still got scores from Draydon Hippen, Lamar Govain, and Larry Jeremiah.

Brayden Myovela went supernova For Maize., rushing for 84 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, while also throwing for 104 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Pearce George, who gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hutchinson fell to 2-1. As for Maize, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
