Basketball Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Le Grand Bulldogs
After losing to the Le Grand Bulldogs the last time they met, the Waterford Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Waterford managed a 29-25 win over the Bulldogs on Monday.
Waterford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sadie Boone led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Boone hasn't dropped below four blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Ward, who scored ten points.
Waterford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Le Grand, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on the Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denair is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Le Grand, they will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delhi comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last 12 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
