Soccer Game Preview: Collins Hill vs. Johnson

The Collins Hill Eagles will head out to face off against the Johnson Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Collins Hill comes in on four and Johnson on five.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Collins Hill duked it out with Mill Creek last Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that Collins Hill have won by just one goal.

Alex Gonzalez and Damon Harley scored both of Collins Hill's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Johnson got the win against East Hall on Friday by a conclusive 6-2. The result was nothing new for Johnson, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

Collins Hill pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those eight contests. As for Johnson, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Collins Hill beat Johnson 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
