Volleyball Game Preview: Hamilton Marines vs. Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers

Hamilton is 1-9 against Fort Wayne Canterbury since August of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Marines will challenge the Cavaliers at 11:30 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hamilton took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Lakeland Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marines narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cougars 3-2.

Hamilton wouldn't go down easily and took Lakeland Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 19-25, 15-6.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fort Wayne Canterbury had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Fort Wayne Canterbury's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Hamilton suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Fort Wayne Canterbury when the teams last played on October 1st. Can the Marines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
