Baseball Recap: Columbus Gets the Win

Columbus won the last time they faced Jordan and things went their way on Friday too. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Red Jackets by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Ren Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Nottleman, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Patrick, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Columbus' record now sits at 16-10. As for Jordan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Columbus will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Miller County at 12:00 p.m. As for Jordan, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pike County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
