Basketball Recap: Mt. Whitney Pioneers vs. Monache Marauders
Mt. Whitney lost to Monache back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pioneers were dealt a 67-24 loss at the hands of the Marauders. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Whitney lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ivy Carter, who posted two points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kavayah Faulkner, who earned six points and five boards.
It was another big night for Kyah Bartlett, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 19 points along with seven assists and seven steals for Monache. Another player making a difference was Shelley Andrade, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
Mt. Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Monache, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mt. Whitney is set to challenge their familiar foe Redwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monache will square off against rival Porterville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
