Baseball Game Preview: Marquette Crusaders vs. Hall Red Devils

The Marquette Crusaders will face off against the Hall Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marquette 1.5, Hall 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Marquette's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Putnam County 2-0. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hall, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Monmouth-Roseville on Friday as they made off with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Marquette's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hall, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Marquette came out on top in a nail-biter against Hall in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
