Baseball Recap: Orange Glen Comes Up Short

Orange Glen and Pacific Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Orange Glen had to settle for second. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Firebirds. The Patriots have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ruben Saavedra made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Orange Glen now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Pacific Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Orange Glen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pacific Ridge, they will face off against Castle Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.63 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
