Sinton extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over the Gregory-Portland Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mykha Green had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 369 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 17.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

Sinton's run defense was locked in: Gregory-Portland could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Jonathan Rivas for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sinton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.9.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gregory-Portland fell to 3-1. The loss was their first of the season.

Gregory-Portland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Dominguez, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 168 yards and one touchdown. That passing touchdown was Dominguez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cody Adame, who rushed for 102 yards and one score.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sinton will square off against Miller at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Gregory-Portland, they will face off against Alice at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
