Basketball Game Preview: Hatboro-Horsham Hatters vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

Hatboro-Horsham is 1-9 against Plymouth Whitemarsh since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Hatboro-Horsham turned things around against Wissahickon on Monday. They snuck past the Trojans with a 33-29 victory.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Whitemarsh came tearing into Sunday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Masterman with points to spare, taking the game 41-22. Given the Colonials' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Masterman are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hatboro-Horsham better keep an eye on Aj Avery. She was instrumental in Plymouth Whitemarsh's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Avery has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Meersman, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and three steals.

Plymouth Whitemarsh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Hatboro-Horsham, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.

Hatboro-Horsham was dealt a bruising 59-10 defeat at the hands of Plymouth Whitemarsh in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hatboro-Horsham was down 31-6.
