It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Appling County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Tattnall County Warriors. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Appling County's record is now 7-9. As for Tattnall County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Appling County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tattnall County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
