Recap: Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars vs. Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels
The Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 40-19 defeat to Moose Lake/Willow River might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hinckley-Finlayson in their matchups with Moose Lake/Willow River: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Hinckley-Finlayson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Griffin Stiel. Despite the final result, he rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 81 receiving yards.
Hinckley-Finlayson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Moose Lake/Willow River, Crosby-Ironton, and Mesabi East. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, the win was the eighth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Hinckley-Finlayson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Moose Lake/Willow River will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mesabi East at 2:00 p.m. Mesabi East is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
