Baseball Recap: Georgia Military College Beats Wilkinson County for Their Third Straight Victory

Georgia Military College won against Glascock County last Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Georgia Military College's pitcher stepped up to hand the Wilkinson County Warriors a 12-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Eli Griffith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Georgia Military College is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise. Griffith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Seth Ussery was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Georgia Military College is undefeated when Ussery posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Logan Knight was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Georgia Military College always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Georgia Military College, bringing their record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Wilkinson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.
