Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

Chapel Hill fell victim to East Coweta and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the East Coweta Indians. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

Bryant Monday was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for East Coweta, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chapel Hill Panthers duke it out with Douglas County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapel Hill is facing Douglas County at the right time seeing as Douglas County is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for East Coweta, they will welcome Westlake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
