Football Game Preview: Gulf Shores Dolphins vs. St. Paul's Episcopal Saints + How To Watch

Gulf Shores is 0-3 against St. Paul's Episcopal since September of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Dolphins will head out on the road to challenge the Saints at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Gulf Shores is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Blount to the tune of 28-0 last Friday. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Leopards are ranked 110th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carter Davis was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Paul's Episcopal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-7 win over Faith Academy. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won three matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.

St. Paul's Episcopal's win came from a few key players Gulf Shores will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hayden Fincher, who threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Ty Sellers helped Fincher out on the ground, rushing for 127 yards and one TD while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

St. Paul's Episcopal's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Gulf Shores, their record is now 2-3.

Gulf Shores couldn't quite get it done against St. Paul's Episcopal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 26-14. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
