Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Junction City

Junction City had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Everything went their way against the Marshfield Pirates as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Conner Clift made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Madix Waldrop was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Bryson Rodriguez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Junction City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshfield only posted an OBP of .333.

Junction City's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Marshfield, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Junction City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
