Football Recap: Arlington Heights Skates Past Pinkston with Ease

Arlington Heights never let their opponents score on Thursday. They really took it to the Pinkston Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-0 win. The Yellowjackets pushed the score to 43-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had no chance of recovering from.

Leading Arlington Heights to victory were Carmelo Carter and Carson James. Carter threw for 109 yards and five TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes, while James rushed for 158 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Vito Jovanovic also helped with two touchdowns in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Arlington Heights' defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Joseph Johnson and Isaiah Schuman, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them. Schuman is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Arlington Heights got some further help from Caynan James: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made six total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Arlington Heights has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Arlington Heights has already played their next game, a 70-0 victory against North Side on the 12th. As for Pinkston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 34-28 defeat against McCallum on the 12th.
