Recap: Milpitas vs. Fremont
Even though the Milpitas Trojans have not done well against the Fremont Firebirds recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Milpitas had just enough and edged Fremont out 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Milpitas also won the last time the pair played back in January.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Genevieve Ramirez and
Audrey Pham, who scored both of Milpitas' goals. The pair have combined for a total of six so far this season.
Milpitas pushed their record up to 8-6-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6-1 record this season.
Milpitas will challenge Lynbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Milpitas' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fremont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gunn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunn will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Fremont surely won't give up without a fight.
