After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northside, Peach County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Rutland Hurricanes 15-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Taleyah Marable, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Addison Dickerson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Peach County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rutland only posted an OBP of .250.
The win got Peach County back to even at 1-1. As for Rutland, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, Peach County and Rutland will both be playing Spalding the next time they take the field. The Hurricanes will head out to face the Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Trojans will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
