Soccer Game Preview: Huntington Beach vs. Orange Lutheran

The Huntington Beach Oilers will take on the Orange Lutheran Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntington Beach's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Huntington Beach is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Arcadia onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. Alicia Katter had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Oilers.

Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Nighthawks by a score of 2-0. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while the Nighthawks are ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orange Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Huntington Beach, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
