Valencia skates past Castaic with ease

The Valencia Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Castaic for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-15 victory at home. That looming 80-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Valencia yet this season.

Valencia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Libby Oxciano, who scored 24 points along with six steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oxciano has scored all season. Keira McLaughlin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Castaic struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Valencia racked up 17 assists.

Valencia's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Castaic, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Valencia won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sierra Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Sierra Canyon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 games. As for Castaic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hart at 5:00 p.m. Hart is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
