Softball Recap: Twin River Comes Up Short

St. Cecilia hit Twin River with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans lost 10-3 to the Bluehawks. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Bluehawks recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

JLee Van Driel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played.

Twin River's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for St. Cecilia, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Twin River will head out on the road to take on Grand Island Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.53 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Cecilia, they will host Polk County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluehawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Slammers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
