Basketball Recap: Providence Day Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Providence Day was the 64-36 winner over Gaston Christian when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell 55-48 to the Eagles on Saturday.

Cameron Newman had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds for Gaston Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Kumbai Makoi, who posted eight points and ten boards.

Providence Day's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gaston Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Providence Day will square off against Christ School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Greenies have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Gaston Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
