Lakeside fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chamblee on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chamblee Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Lakeside got a good showing from Noah Hathaway, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Jihad Guy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

Lakeside's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Chamblee, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Coming up, Lakeside will square off against Shiloh at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Shiloh knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Lakeside likes a good challenge.
