Softball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Knights vs. Hardaway Hawks

The Calvary Christian Knights will square off against the Hardaway Hawks at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Calvary Christian took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Southwest Georgia Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights skirted past the Warriors 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since October 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, Hardaway had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on Manchester with a sharp 18-8 win on Monday. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since August 30, 2021.

Naryah Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Hardaway got a massive performance out of Neeraja Thomas, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Thomas has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shelby Huff, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester only posted an OBP of .333.

Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hardaway, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
