Baseball Recap: Decatur Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

While Decatur's win against Lakeside wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Baylor Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Decatur's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Lakeside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.

Decatur will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
