Basketball Recap: Calaveras Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Calaveras extended their road winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Makenna Neelans. The Calaveras Red Hawks breezed by the Big Valley Christian Lions to the tune of 71-2 on Tuesday thanks in part to Neelans, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Morgan Clifton was another key player, putting up five points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Calaveras has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Big Valley Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Calaveras wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-38 defeat against Bret Harte on the 24th. Big Valley Christian has also already played their next game, an 82-11 loss against Riverbank on the 24th.
