Soccer Game Preview: Providence vs. Mayfield

Providence hasn't had much luck against Mayfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Providence Pioneers will be playing at home against the Mayfield Cubs at 3:10 p.m.

Providence is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to Flintridge Prep. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 887th, while Wolves are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Mayfield made sure to put some goals up on the board against Polytechnic on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-2.

Mayfield's win bumped their record up to 6-7-1. As for Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1.
