Golden entered their tilt with Alameda on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 20-2 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Demons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mariela Torres made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Daely Peterson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Reagan Smith was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .489 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Golden's record now sits at 16-5. As for Alameda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Coming up, Golden will take on Pomona at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Demons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alameda, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mitchell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
