Baseball Game Preview: Caledonia Warriors vs. Dover-Eyota Eagles

Caledonia has gone 6-1 against Dover-Eyota recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Caledonia has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Things were looking good for Caledonia after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of La Crescent by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Caledonia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon O'Heron, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was O'Heron's first of the season.

Randolph hit Dover-Eyota with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joel Skrukrud made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Mat Matejka was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Caledonia's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Dover-Eyota, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Caledonia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dover-Eyota struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Caledonia got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Dover-Eyota by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
