It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Liberty Charter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Preuss UCSD Tritons. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Tritons back in January, they had to take a 45-13 defeat.

Despite the loss, Preuss UCSD saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rediet Neme posted eight points.

Liberty Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points over those games. As for Preuss UCSD, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Liberty Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-27 win against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on the 6th. As for Preuss UCSD, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 28-27 loss against High Tech NC on the 6th.
