Basketball Recap: Paisley Canady's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Casa Roble over Oakmont

Casa Roble lost against Oakmont back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Casa Roble Rams took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakmont Vikings.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paisley Canady, who posted 20 points and three steals. Canady is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Brinley Ornelas was another key player, going 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Casa Roble smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Casa Roble has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Oakmont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Casa Roble will take on Elk Grove in a tournament on Thursday. As for Oakmont, they will be taking part in a tournament against Woodland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oakmont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
