Tift County entered their tilt with Lowndes on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings an 8-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win on Thursday.

Lily Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ella Bruce was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jaylin McCant, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Tift County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tift County's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lowndes, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, Tift County is taking a road trip to face off against Cook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 1.6, the Hornets 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lowndes, they will venture away from home to challenge Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
