Soccer Recap: Mayfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Galway on Tuesday, Mayfield came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Mayfield have struggled against Waterford-Halfmoon recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Riley Roth and Anna Leo scored both of Mayfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mayfield will face off against Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, they will challenge Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
