Basketball Recap: New Garden Friends Falls Despite Big Games from Kingston Clifton and Curtis Russell

New Garden Friends was the 47-44 winner over Crossroads Christian when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The New Garden Friends Bears fell 68-58 to the Crossroads Christian Colts on Friday.

New Garden Friends' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Curtis Russell, who posted 25 points and six boards, and Kingston Clifton, who scored 15 points and five rebounds. Clifton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 20 games he's played. Adrian Wilkerson was another key player, putting up five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crossroads Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Smith, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kobe Edgerton, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds.

New Garden Friends' loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Crossroads Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.

New Garden Friends has already played their next game, a 67-42 win against Southeastern Christian Academy on the 15th. As for Crossroads Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-39 victory against Lawrence Academy on the 15th.
