Abilene gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the San Angelo Central Bobcats 42-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Bobcats are ranked 338th).

Brayden Henry had a dynamite game, rushing for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Henry, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Abilene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jeremiah Collins and Charles Meeks. Abilene received some extra help from Jayden Starks, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Coming up, Abilene will square off against Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Angelo Central, they will take on Amarillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
