Soccer Game Preview: Montgomery County vs. Portal

The Montgomery County Eagles will challenge the Portal Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Montgomery County is leaving town to face Portal after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Montgomery County came up short against Lincoln County on Monday, falling 5-2. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Portal, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (7-8), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Montgomery County beat Portal by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 2-1. Will Montgomery County repeat their success, or does Portal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
