Softball Recap: Elkhorn Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Elkhorn came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Fremont Tigers.

The team relied heavily on Ava Crollard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlie Villwok, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Elkhorn's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Fremont, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Elkhorn will challenge Blair at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Antlers will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Fremont, they will square off against Bellevue East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
