Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls vs. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls

The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls are taking a road trip to square off against St. Hubert Catholic for Girls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Ryan has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Archbishop Ryan came up short against Mt. St. Joseph Academy on Friday, falling 54-34.

Meanwhile, St. Hubert Catholic for Girls can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Frankford with a sharp 51-28 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Frankford is ranked 124th).

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' win came from a few key players Archbishop Ryan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luca D'Andrea, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. What's more, she also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Mia Ronan was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankford only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Archbishop Ryan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Archbishop Ryan was able to grind out a solid win over St. Hubert Catholic for Girls in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 40-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Archbishop Ryan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
