Softball Recap: Eaton Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Eaton came out on top against Weld Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Reds never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Reds have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Johanna Galvan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Emma Anderson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most triples she has posted since back in August of 2024. Isabella Ramsey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weld Central only posted an OBP of .000.

Eaton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Weld Central, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eaton will face off against Resurrection Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.94 runs per game on average), something the Reds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Weld Central, they will square off against Brush at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
