Softball Recap: West Marshall Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

West Marshall entered their tilt with Saydel on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 5-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 back in May.

West Marshall's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Saydel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Coming up, West Marshall will welcome Van Meter at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.4, the Bulldogs 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Saydel will be paying especially close attention to West Marshall's matchup: after West Marshall faces off against Van Meter, they'll take on Saydel again at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
